Black Pepper in Vietnam (2016)

Objective

- improve pH in extreamly acid soil to be suitable soil for Black Pepper

- decrease Black Pepper diseases.

- increase productivity

- decrease production cost i.e. fertilizer cost and agrochemical cost

Variety: Black Pepper Vinh Linh

Age of plants: 5 years

Experimental area: 1,000 sqm.

pH before: 3.5 by average

pH after: 4.7 by average

pH increased: +1.2 unit within 2 months but in 3nd month pH decreased.

 

Benefits:

- Greener of leaves and more thickness, yellow leaves decreased.

- Black Pepper diseases decreased i.e. Phytophthora, Fusarium sp.

- Yield increased to 4 kgs/pile

- Farmers are very satisfied and used our product before other fertilizers.
